Episode 11
We get a painful reminder of what happened last week with some VERY bloody scenes
After the carnage Satoko washes herself off
A cheerful Rika comes over to greet Satoko who is most pleased to see her.
Rika offers to help clean the house but Satoko rebuffs this by saying she can handle the mess…
With that matter settled the two girls go to the festival and are joined by the rest of the gang.
Everyone is in high spirits and even Rika takes a moment to reflect on achieving a happy ending.
A bashful Satoko holds Keiichi’s hand and takes him away. This takes Mion by surprise
On top of a hill Satoko thanks Keiichi for all his efforts and asks one more favour of him. It is an offer he cannot refuse!
An agitated Ooishi watches on.
Satoko then leads Keiichi to her house. He cannot grasp what has happened with it being so dark…
That is until the light goes on. Oh boy!
With Keiichi dead Satoko lets out the water works to make it seem like she is the victim. Ooishi who saw both of them enter the house tries to comfort Satoko.
He finds the horrific crime scene and asks her some questions as to what happened exactly…
Satoko fabricates the murder scene with her versions of events stating that Keiichi murdered Teppei and was shouting something about the Oyashiro curse.
Ooishi is so interested in figuring out a connection to this curse that he doesn’t think to question the details of this implausible story. Satoko plays on Ooishi’s obsession on the Oyashiro curse and continues to add extra details that incriminates other people in the crime… Ooishi falls for this hook, line and sinker much to the amusement of Satoko.
An enraged Ooishi comes to deliver justice against what he believes is the true culprit for the crimes committed.
He throttles Rika and kills another but just as another bloodbath seems imminent, he is stopped.
Or so it seemed! Ooishi regains control over the situation and we get to see a re-enactment of a previous arc but this time his crazy actions are explained.
After those murders he grasps Rika once more and demands answers. Rika only speaks in riddles and so he decides to cap her.
After this carnage Satoko brazenly enters the stage at which point Ooishi finally gets it. Alas it is too late and he is quickly dispatched.
To ensure Rika is dead and not lost in the fragments of time Satoko shoots her in the head. The ruthless killing is seen by a horrified Reina. I wonder if Reina will recall this event in future fragments and if so what kind of impact that will have on the story?
Episode 12
When Rika returns Hanyuu realises the worst has happened and tries to comfort her about a story of her past life.
She recalls the great Oyashiro curse that the Furude family had to bear for eight generations. Things change however when the final girl in the lineage was born as Hanyuu finally has a change of heart and makes friends with her. That girl? It is Rika and is Hanyuu's first friend in nearly a thousand years…
It this friendship however that made Hanyuu commit her final sin; that is turning Rika into the girl who has the ability (curse?) to loop through time. A wish made to stop her from dying but in the end only granting eternal suffering…
Rika is a fighter and it is that fighting spirit that moved Hanyuu to go from a mere spectator to an active participant in the loops.
This participation culminates in Hanyuu saving Rika and her friends from the biggest villain.
After recalling that pivotal moment Hanyuu shows a steely determination and just like that several fragments shatter and look! Her damaged horns seem to have repaired! What have we got here I wonder?!
Rika suddenly wakes and howls in pain unable to tell her gruesome death is only a bad memory now. Unlike before there is one big difference; she can now recall the name of her killer!
Eua and Satoko look on in bemusement. Much less this be a tool for Rika, Satoko sees this as yet another opportunity to create more mayhem!
The anguish doesn’t end for Rika. She has another epiphany that she did actually leave Hinamizawa only to get dragged back into her nightmare.
The heartaches for Rika continue to pile on as Hanyuu's makes a sudden farewell. Rika is left reeling at this revelation, losing the will to carry on. Before Hanyuu departs however, she drops a hint on a way of killing loopers. As always though, Satoko eavesdrop on this juicy peace of information…
Back to the real world and the gang propose a game of hide and seek. However Rika suggests she is the one who will go into hiding.
As Satoko is looking for Rika she stumbles on the shrine and you know what is going to happen… Yes she finds that elusive looper killing sword! Everything this season is turning in Satoko's favour!
Rika does finally reach the statue but can only despair on what she finds…
But wait what is that sparkle? Is that the sparkle of hope?!
Mion, Keiichi and Reina get worried and decide to check the shrine.
Rika’s is about to take the final plunge but just at that moment her friends call out! It is enough to prevent her making any rash moves but she will not give up entirely. She vows to go through five more loops and if she can’t fix things by then…
Well the first loop certainly ends swiftly as Akasaka is turned by the master manipulator into killing Rika.
The following scenes certainly looks reminiscent of previous arcs…
It all ends in explosive fashion with Satoko reminding Rika that there can be no escape…
The second loop is a similar disaster. The killer maybe different but the result is the same…
Satoko is careful to watch from a distance after the deed is done. Perhaps this is what she meant by using Rika’s own memories against her…
You think anything good happens in the third loop? Think again!
We are greeted with yet more violence. This time the source of madness is from Keiichi. Will Rika ever get a break?!
This episode has all gone Satoko and Eua’s way so it is no wonder the pair are having a right laugh.
However, in the land of fragments a peculiar development has occurred. What can this mean?
